Systems Analyst - Data and Report Development -

Sierra Cybernetics is seeking a Systems Analyst to work for us at our government client’s office in downtown Pasadena. You will need strong data and report development skills. The desired candidate would be a self-motivated IT professional with experience supporting commercial off-the-shelf systems and assisting end users. This is expected to be a 3 – 6 month contract assignment.

• Serve as the central point of coordination between business operations, IT and vendors
• Work with business, IT and vendors to resolve routine to moderately-complex systems problems; troubleshoot system and application issues
• Support and enhance Pasadena Water & Power’s utility operations data warehouse and business intelligence reporting
• Maintain, configure and customize applications, interfaces and reports
• Plan and coordinate to deploy new code and configuration through the test, development and production lifecycle
• Develop and maintain technical documentation of systems, reports and interfaces
• Develop and maintain user documentation; support development of test plans including acceptance criterions and testing data sets; provide user support and training, as needed
• May develop training materials, handouts, desktop procedures; may conduct user applications training classes and one-on-one training sessions

• 5+ years of experience in systems analysis and application development and support
• 5+ years of experience as a data developer and reports writer
• Experienced in implementing business requirements/rules through customization, configuration, and setup
• SQL Server 2012 (or higher) and/or Oracle 11g (or higher)
• Proficient understanding of SQL
• Database design experience with both UML and DML
• SSRS Server 2012 (or higher)
• SSIS 2012 (or higher)
• Utility Industry Experience
• AS/400/Query 400
• DB2
• Proactive self-learner, researching issues and problem solving independently
• Able to plan, organize and prioritize daily assignments and work activities
• A bachelor's degree or its equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a closely related technical field
