The engineer will have primary responsibility for developing the custom pages, tools, and integrations that will be necessary to define Gurtin's brand as a technology-forward, thought leader within the municipal market. They will also be crucial in the development of self-service features which will drive engagement between Gurtin's website and clients. These features will include account data visualization, improved reporting and communication, strategy assessment and guidance, and portfolio analysis tools.
The Senior .NET Engineer should have a strong understanding of web development best practices, especially with regard to software security. Research new tools and methods, and help integrate them into existing systems or development procedures
Proactively look for solutions to problems and use a balanced approach to solving those problems using software
Implement and maintain software security best practices
Implement and maintain technical SEO best practices on the website, working in collaboration with the marketing website content manager
Perform additional webmaster responsibilities and tasks
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
3+ years development experience with C#
Strong understanding of best software security practices with public facing websites
Microsoft Azure administration experience
Some experience with Microsoft SQL Server, queries, procedures, and views
Motivated by and enjoys solving business problems and seeing immediate impact
Ability to work independently or with a team, plan work, and handle multiple assignments simultaneously
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong time and task management skills
D3 or other data visualization library experience
Experience with Umbraco (.NET based CMS)
Proficiency in Google Search Console a plus
Microsoft Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server
Automated build/deployment tools
Experience in an agile development environment
Base compensation is commensurate with experience, and bonus is at the discretion of management. This is a full time position and includes all benefits provided to full-time employees of the firm.
