Talented Web Developer to Join Our E-learning Team

Our E-learning company is seeking a talented website developer with experience in Drupal and WordPress for a full time position managing our websites. The right candidate will be dedicated to learning and personal development as well as having a passion for getting results and making websites perform more effectively.

The position reports to our senior marketing and web programmer and will work closely to ensure our websites are up to current standards, secure, and marketing-friendly. You will regularly meet with business leaders and internal stakeholders to support a robust marketing and ecommerce strategy. Responsibilities for this position include:

• Regular meetings with internal teams to support the update and improvement of all existing websites and growth of ecommerce sales;
• Monitor website vulnerability and apply security updates, patches, and regular checks for gaps;
• Design and implement enhancements to improve appearance, usability, mobile responsiveness, conversion, and search optimization;
• Collaborate with marketing, management, and service to implement improvements to usability based on customer feedback and analytics;
• Database management and updates, queries and reports as needed;
• Set up and implement A/B testing on critical website landing pages; and
• Support the adherence to best practice of all websites.

The role is ultimately responsible for designing, coding and modifying websites, from layout to function and according to stakeholder specifications. As part of this role, the following experience is preferred:

• Web design, website graphics, and CSS including Twitter Bootstrap CSS;
• Search engine optimization best practice as it relates to programming and website development, A/B testing, and conversion rate optimization as well as google analytic experience
• Open-source development platforms and PHP frameworks such as Drupal, WordPress, Joomla, CakePHP, Symfony, Laravel, or similar;
• jQuery and JavaScript, PHP 5.4 or higher, SCSS (aka Sass), MySQL;
• Command line, preferably Ubuntu Linux, but any command line experience is good;
• MySQL database with ability to create complex queries as needed;
• AWS - helpful but not required;
• Use of sftp and ssh via ssh-keys from either Windows, Linux, or Mac platforms;
• Version control software such as Git or Mercurial, preferably Git; and
• Working in a Windows office environment in the office
