JMET is a unique security engineering group within Apple IS&T. We provide critical services for the company across every product line. From manufacturing to customer facing, our services span across the entire lifecycle of most Apple hardware. We are responsible to design, implement and support the ongoing need to improve customer safety and privacy by providing security services that are tightly coupled with hardware. Many of our services are seen in iOS Security Guide or publicly discussed on Internet forums. We are looking for an exceptional QA engineer to work along side the Engineering development team to drive Software Quality and integration. As a member of our fast-paced group, you will have a unique and rewarding opportunity to work on improving the critical services that we build for our customers. The successful candidate has a strong aptitude for learning new technologies, excellent communication and strong problem solving skills. Additionally, the candidate is expected have the ability to architect, create, and run both manual and automated tests.
•Passion for problem solving and for for driving quality into every aspect of a project
•Hands-on experience with QA methodologies
•Proficiency in Java
•Up-to-date with current and up-coming technologies/frameworks
•Experienced with web applications in Unix/Linux environment
•Ability to read and critique software architecture/designs to increase testability and maintainability
•Proficient with reading / writing scripts, such as bash/perl/python
•Good understanding of database technologies including relational and NoSQL systems
The main responsibility for this position is to drive quality and quality related development work in all team projects. This position will work alongside the software development team to acquire in-depth knowledge of how each application works in terms of business logic, security aspects, deployment environments and the relevant software processes involved in order to develop quality related software solutions, provide design and architecture feedback, and implement test cases/software automation.
BS in Computer Science or engineering (or equivalent experience)
Hands-on industry experience or demonstrable project experience
Understanding of security concepts such as PKI is a plus
Comfortable and adaptable in a fast-paced and informal environment
Passionate and self-motivated
Strong attention to detail
Good time-management skills
