About the Job

We are looking for a dynamic and team focused Systems Administrator to join our IT team in Vancouver, Washington! The IT Systems Administrator's primary purpose is to manage and configure system storage, backups, and virtualization. In this role, the Systems Administrator will work closely with other technical staff to maintain and develop processes and security practices insuring all backups meet requirements including Windows recovery, insuring the virtual infrastructure and storage is sized properly and operating at their highest potential. The candidate must be experienced with cloud storage as well as storage area networks and distributed file system replication.

Requirements

What you will do:
•Manage and maintain Distributed File System replication including: implementation, improvements, and supporting tools
•Maintain backup infrastructure including hardware, software, drivers, security updates, issues and upgrades.
•Insure all critical user data is backed up based on requirements and policies.
•Maintain, upgrade, and implement improvements to the VMware virtual and storage infrastructure.
•Maintain virtual machine templates as updates occur (OS, Windows Updates, 3rd party software updates).
•Proactively monitor event logs and take appropriate action to prevent or resolve issues.
•Audit backups and review logs on a regular basis insuring all systems are being backed up according to requirements.
•Engage in capacity planning, reporting technical performance metrics, and implementing of operational standards to meet required service levels.
•Monitor and fine-tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
•Provide professional development, mentorship and guidance to IT staff regarding backup and recovery processes.
•Continually test and fine tune processes related to backups, virtual management and disaster recovery.
•Provide critical technical support to all staff and stakeholders.
•Other tasks as assigned.

What we need from you:
•Experienced with backup software (Veeam, DPM, Azure, etc..), processes, troubleshooting, and implementation.
•Project management experience (preferred).
•5+ years' experience in Microsoft Operating System fundamentals and experience utilizing native tools.
•4+ years' experience in storage, backup and recovery.
•4+ years' experience in virtual machine management.
•2+ years' experience in designing, implementing, and maintenance of backup and storage infrastructure.
•Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Services.
•Advanced knowledge in VMware and platform virtualization.
•Ability to effectively write scripts including, but not limited to PowerShell.
•Knowledge of Distributed File System Replication and related tools.
•Ability to write technical documentation.
•Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
•Ability to troubleshoot issues including service loss, performance issues, and analyze root cause.
•Ability to learn new methods and concepts.
•Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload and tasks.
•Strong communication skills.
•Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
•Traditional work schedule to include occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs.
