IT Support Technician -

JOB DESCRIPTION

TMI is the industry leader in traffic control services. Currently, we are seeking a IT Support Technician for our Signal Hill Office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

- Maintain highest level of user functionality by troubleshooting software, operating and antivirus systems; escalating problems to Systems Administrators.
- Respond to requests for technical assistance via telephone, email and in person, as required and logging the issue in a help desk
management system
- Provide a single view to the organization for information technology related problems
- Follow the Help Desk chain of escalation to ensure the most time-effective solution for each issue
- Perform Level 1 IT support tasks including but not limited to
a. Reset, unlock and add new computers via Active Directory
b. Set up new PCs using disk images and manual setup of user specific software
c. Troubleshoot and repair PC hardware (disk, memory, power supply, motherboard
d. Diagnose and resolve issues with standard application software and OS
e. Diagnose, analyze and resolve performance issues
f. Set up, troubleshoot and resolve issues with printers, scanners and other peripherals
g. Install and configure PC software applications
- Complete special projects as assigned by immediate manager


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

- Must be able to provide excellent customer service
- Must have excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Must have the ability to learn new skills on the job
- Must be able to multitask several assignments at once
- Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must have skills and be comfortable working with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (Windows 7, Windows Server 2003,
2008) (Microsoft Office skills a plus)
- Must be comfortable working in Active Directory
- Must be able to work in Terminal Server environments.
- Must have a reasonable familiarity working with Apple Products (such as iPhone and iPad)
- Must have basic printer setup and troubleshooting skills
- Must be able to image and deploy operating systems as well as set up workstations
- Must have basic computer hardware troubleshooting skills
- Must be able to provide telephone support to remote sites
- Must be able to assist IT Manager with other miscellaneous tasks

REQUIRED TECHNICAL CERTIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- A+ Certified Technician
- Network + Certified
- MCP
- MCTS (Windows 7)
- MCITP:SA - Windows Server 2008 or MCSA (Systems Administrator)
- High School or equivalent with 4+ years of related experience.Or a Bachelor Degree with 2 year of experience.
